But only ghostly in the “spiritual” sense. There’s plenty happening come October with vacationers returning, cars arriving and clubs opening. Halloween fires the starting gun for the upcoming season. Downtown, the restaurants and bars will be full of the usual tuxedoed vampires and sexy witches. But it’s the family-friendly North End that’s the tell-tale heart of the holiday here with neighboring streets competing for the affection of pint-sized skeleton crews who troop up and down the palm lined streets at dusk.
A little over-the-top orange and black decor is a long-standing tradition on streets like Queens and El Pueblo, but there’s no denying the island’s recent youth movement has amped things up. The costumed hordes angling for your KitKats aren’t visiting grandchildren. Those kids live here– year round! 🎃🧙‍♀️

Market Color: September of Our Years

Summer sales drive September closings. And for the last two years July and August saw plenty of sales action from the late Leslie Jordan’s fellow “hunker-downers.” September 2022 though, saw a return to the usual nothing-to-see-here level of summer activity, with Palm Beach island closings down 64% from September 2021. Everyone, and we mean literally everyone, finally got out of town for a vacation. Even real estate agents! Even us!!
With the return of cool weather up north, buyers are back, showings are up and contracts are happening (see our pending sales below). We believe that after the mid-term elections the buyer traffic will go up another notch. Anecdotally, some non-resident Palm Beachers are delaying their trips south to stay home and vote.
